The Air Force announced Thursday that it is building two dormitries at its campuses, both in Colorado.
The Airman’s College and the Airman Academy at Colorado Springs are part of a new initiative to provide more opportunities for the Air Force’s active-duty personnel.
The facilities are being built on a $5.5 million federal contract to build dormitresses and offices for the military.
The academy is also under construction and slated to open in 2018.
The new dormitures are part a $20 million federal program called the Colorado Army National Guard.
Colorado Springs has a population of about 1,300.
