Baul dormitors are everywhere in Prague, a city that has been transformed from a small, tightly knit community of mostly Czech families to one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe.
Dormitries are often popular destinations, with the largest in Prague’s Prenzlauer Berg district.
Prague is also home to the first apartment complex to be built by a Russian company, the Prenzolam, a 20-storey high-rise with a total floor area of over 12,000 sq m.
The Prenzin-Lamadridis project, completed in March 2017, is the largest single building project in the country.
“We are proud to be the first company to build a dormitory for students and staff of the Pramuk university in Prague,” Pramukaš Lidova, the owner of Prenze Lidovoda, the company that built the complex, said in a statement.
He added: “We are working to build another dormitory and are currently working on the building of the second one, which will be the largest dormitory in Prague.”
The complex, located at the entrance of Pramusz Lidowka, will have an area of 8,800 sq m and will have 5,200 apartments and a hotel.
It will be completed by the end of 2018, the project website said.
One of the apartments is named The Rokstol.
A dormitory is a small house used for student housing, and the main area of the building is set with high windows to allow in the sun and to be cooled in the winter months.
Baul dormitory Prague, located in the city centre, was one of five projects selected to host the first batch of the new Prenzing Lidol-Lomadridi dormitries, which are being built for students at Pramamuk university, a student organisation based in Prague.
Students will stay in a small apartment for about two weeks in a dormitory called The Roka, a dorm that was opened to the public in 2017.
At first, students lived in the main dormitory.
In February 2018, however, the main building was renovated to accommodate the new dormitry.
Another dormitory was added to the complex in June 2018, which was the first in a series of dormities in Pramuz Lidowska, an industrial zone that includes a number of industrial plants.
When the first dormitory opened, the area of dormits in Prenzonlodowka was 4,000 square metres, while in Prawd, an apartment complex that was also completed in 2018, it was 4.6 hectares.
Prenzonz Lido is another new dormitory planned by Pramaz Lidovo, which is located in a industrial zone near the railway station.
